Sydney's 1st Day of Preschool

Sydney started preschool on December 2nd, 2010. We had to take a picture of course before she left. She had no problem going and hasn't looked back since. She loves, loves, loves going to school!

Thanksgiving 2010

This was the first year the AZ Denk Family spent Thanksgiving without friends or family. It was a nice quiet/fun day with LOTS of cooking, baking and of course... eating!!

Grandma & Aunt Ginny Meet Londyn

In October 2010, Grandma Denk and Aunt Ginny Denk were able to come out to Arizona for a visit to meet Londyn and spend time with Sydney too. We had a great time at the pumpkin patch, going to dance class, hosting a halloween party and just hanging out at the house. They were such a big help to us with the girls, taking care of everything around the house and giving mommy and daddy a few breaks. Thank you so much for coming and for everything you did for us!!! We LOVED having you here!

Sydney rides a pony for the first time

We went to a pumpkin patch with our playgroup on Wednesday. They had a pony ride, so Sydney gave it a try and loved it! She had no fear whatsoever! Who knows, maybe she'll be like her cousin Jocelyn one day and ride in competition?? :)

Sydney's 1st Dance Class

Sydney has started a dance class for 2 and 3 year olds. She had one trial class, so we went ahead and signed her up. Last Tuesday was her first "official" class with her leotard, tights, ballet and tap shoes. She was so excited! She's doing really well so far. Here are the initial photos... more to come. Not that I need to say it, but these girls are beyond cute!

Stopped to pose for a picture through the window (too funny)

In this exercise, they balance the ball against the mirror, then turn around in a circle

I have no idea why, but Sydney sits down a lot

Football Wars

From the beginning of our relationship, it's been a Chiefs vs. Steelers football war. It's been a little hard to be a Chiefs fan at times, but still fun to root for them no doubt. Our time will come. Anyway, now that we have kids, we are bringing them into the friendly "battle" by dressing them in both teams clothes and having Syd cheer for both. So far, I'm winning on the cheer front by getting Syd to always say "Go Chiefs!!!" It looks like I'm getting spanked in the team shirt department though. Good thing the season isn't over. :)

1 Month Old

Londyn was 1 month old on 10/13/10. We did not take her in for a one month check-up because the doctor said if she was healthy, to just keep her home, away from the sick kids. We'll take her in for her 2 month on 11/15. Two weeks ago, she weighed 8 lbs 14 oz. She's definitely been eating well, so she's definitely passed the 9lb mark, but we haven't weighed her at home. We're just happy she's healthy and sleeping pretty well as long as she's with mommy or daddy. We need to work on getting her to sleep on her own a little more. In time... in time. :)

Sisters!

Sydney has been great with Londyn so far. She loves to give her kisses and hugs, calm her when she is crying, and would love to give her bottles more although she doesn't get one very often since Mommy is nursing. Here are a couple of photos of big sister holding little sister for the first few times. :)

Sisterly love... so sweet!

She really is happier then she looks

Grandma & Grandpa Lomax w/ Londyn

Grandma was here for 3 weeks before and after Londyn was born. She was a huge help with Sydney and Mommy. Grandpa flew in for the weekend to meet Londyn and see Sydney too. Thank you Mom and Dad for everything!!!

Welcome Londyn Rae Denk!

On Monday, September 13th @ 4:15pm, we welcomed our second baby daughter, Londyn Rae Denk, into the world. She weighed 8 lbs 8.2 oz and measured 20 3/4 inches long. She arrived a week earlier than expected because at 37 weeks an ultrasound showed she was weighing about 8 1/2 lbs. My doctors worried that if she went full term she was going to be about a 10 lb baby! Since Sydney was 9 lbs 1 oz at full term, we all agreed that if she didn't come on her own before 39 weeks, we would go ahead and induce. Although she showed signs of coming out on her own, the 39 week mark hit, so we went with the induction. The labor and delivery went as well as could be expected. She's just perfect. Grandma Lomax and big sister got to see her shortly after she was delivered, so that was just awesome to have them there too.
Here are some of the first pictures taken of Londyn with family. There will be many more to come!

Sydney Swims All By Herself!!!

Sydney and I have been in the pool a lot this summer. It's been a great activity for me because the "extra weight" I'm carrying felt weightless. It was awesome for Sydney because she got to burn off some good energy each time. We tried to work on the basic fundamentals that we learned at the Hubbard Swim classes we took together. She was really getting more comfortable in the water even warming up to back floating (her least favorite activity), touching the bottom, diving for rings with help, etc. All of a sudden, last week, she decided she was going to swim across the hot tub (a.k.a. "little pool") by herself. Luckily Daddy was there with a video camera to catch it. I'm still working on getting her to either roll over on her back to breathe or just lift her head up without holding on to me to take a breath. Either way, she'll be going back for more swim lessons this fall and I predict she'll be quite the little fish by next summer. She's amazing! I'm one proud mama!!

Here are a couple of the videos that were captured. Try to ignore the huge pregnant lady in the bikini. Hey, it's my backyard... normally no one can see me. :)

Maternity Photos with Sydney - 33 weeks

At 33 weeks pregnant, Sydney and I went and had some maternity photos taken to surprise daddy. Some of them turned out pretty decent. The ones of Sydney (29 months) are definitely adorable! We're getting so excited to meet her baby sister!!

30 Weeks... 10 more to go!

We took some belly pictures over the weekend to show the "baby's" growth progress. All I can see is the three B's though: Big boobs, big butt and big belly, but the first two were always sort of an issue. ;) She is still measuring exactly to her due date of 9/20 and so far I've kept my weight gain in line this time. I can't believe there is only 10 weeks left of this pregnancy. It's gone by so fast, but I'm sure the last six/seven weeks will drag by.

Sydney is adorable in kissing my belly every day and talking to her baby sister (still sometimes saying 'baby brother or sister'). We'll have to get some good pictures of this because the ones we took didn't turn out. I hope she is this sweet when her baby sister actually arrives.

We'll get more belly shots, but here are a couple.
